Question 1
In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Explanation of Our Finished Opening Sequence Ideas
(C.D, D.L, J.R)
In the video above we are basically explaining where we got our ideas from real media products such as IT (1990) (Film), Child's Play (1988) (Film) and Dead Rising (2006) (Video Game) which are explained below in depth. In the video we have our trailer playing in the background just to show you when we explain you can think of those real media products we talk about and compare with our opening sequence.

For Question 1 of the Evaluation we used the green screen because we wanted as a group to show our opening title sequence is similar to other films/video games. We got ideas from these films and video games because these sorts of ideas made these different from the rest and made them entertainment which is the effect we wanted. What we wanted to do was to show ourselves talking as a group whilst something is playing so you get a commentary form our voices instead of us placing slides of writing next to the film and video games. The films and video games we looked at was 'IT' (1990) (Film), 'Dead Rising' (2006) (Video Game) and 'Child's Play' (1988) (Film). The button below will take you to a video which shows Connor Dokic (C.D) (Me) explaining what we are getting from our idea and why. Also the page has other videos which explains where we got some of our ideas from such as the laugh etc. The video below shows us 'Where we got our ideas from?' and the other one is explaining what our final video ideas, where we got them because we didn't use all the ideas we had.

Where We Got Our Ideas From?
(C.D)
This video explains in depth what we getting from those real media products, with the actual parts from those real media products playing in the background. This means that you can get a better understanding of what we are copying just in case you haven't watched where we are getting our ideas from the real media products. In the video I am talking about first is Dead Rising (2006) (Video Game), IT (1990) (Film) and Child's Play (1988) (Film).

Comparison of our parts in our opening sequence to other horror films
Here is a compare of our opening sequence which is on the left with other movies which we got inspired by such as Killer Klowns, IT and Saw. In all shots we have placed near enough the same shot because we felt that shot was very good in the film and we wanted to collect a lot good shots and place them into which is our final opening sequence. In some shots like the first one we filmed in the day time because we wanted that feel of this clown in the daylight in the public eye which shows he's nice in the daylight and evil in the dark. All of them we tried to make them better such as add a light effect or place no colour in the clip because we wanted to make it more mysterious then obvious because the audience don't know what they got themselves into and make it more scary.

Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to Killer Klowns bit is because we wanted to use different camera angles. Also we wanted the clown to do the stalking instead of the good characters finding him.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to IT bit is because we wanted the audience to see the darkness happening at night because you see villains in the dark instead of the day time which villains are normal.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to Killer Klowns bit is because having this prop made the clown look more evil because it not only looks like he dragging a body but wanting to kill with it.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to Killer IT bit is because we wanted the audience to play a bit of Where's Wally? but in a scary way such as they want to know where he is so they are sure that he wont jump out on them.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to IT bit is because its like get close to the villain and we wanted to use this has when you see him your going to be knocked out and woken up in his playground lair.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to Saw bit is because when the innocent person woke up they would wake up in his playground lair and is trapped which means they will get tortured.
(C.D) Copied it but adjusted it to make it betterThe reason why we used this which is similar to IT bit is because we wanted the audience to write what happens next and we did this because the interaction of the villain and the innocent character meet and then he pops a balloon and we wanted to finish on that.

From Killer Klowns (1988)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because in this you saw the clowns face and in it you saw a happy clown but their was another to him which we wanted to hide until the right time.
(C.D) From IT (1990)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because in it is when the children see him in the middle of the river pointing at them to show fear to them but in ours we wanted to show that change which is our clowns dark side hence with the darkness on him.
(C.D) From Killer Klowns (1988)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because they used a dog to sniff out the humans. We thought this prop was good so we wanted our clown to have a prop like this but for a clown.
(C.D) From IT (1990)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because they zoomed in on him with binoculars and we wanted to use this sort of searching but instead of them doing the searching on screen we wanted out audience to do it for themselves to make it more scarier and more interactive.
(C.D) From IT (1990)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because in this the little girl who is innocent spots him with this circus music and then he goes and wanted to do the same but with a laugh so the audience knows when they are closing their eyes that he has arrived.
(C.D) From Saw (2004)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because in this the innocent person has got a thing on their head and they are trying to escape. We wanted to do the same but have blood but tied up so they couldn't escape is well.
(C.D) From IT (1990)How we decided to use this bit effectively is because the clown interactive with the innocent characters by speaking and offering them something. we wanted to do the same but use the sound effects of the balloon to turn the camera off which gives the audience the imagination of what happens next.
